Event Report: Prom King & Queen Workshop (21&23/09/2010)
It is the time again. When there's prom, there’s got to be prom king and queen contest.
This year, the Students’ Council did something unique in comparison to previous years. Students became eligible for the contest by attending a prom makeover workshop. It was sponsored by Giovon Image Academy -just for RM15 to take part. Girls’ session was on 21st of September, and guys’ session was on 23rd of September.
The workshop was held for 2 days
Explanation on how to draw eyebrows
Touch-up by makeup artist
Group photo (Day 1, Session 1)
Group photo (Day 1, Session 2)
Students getting hair-do
Shaping eyebrow
Group photo (Day 2)
Handing token of appreciation
Top 10 guys and 10 girls from the workshop, whom we think fit the criteria of looks, personality and popularity, were chosen.
Then, the semi-finalists’ photos were uploaded on our facebook page. The students of SEGi and any of their friends were encouraged to vote for the semi-finalists. The voting period lasted for approximately 2 weeks, started on 27th September 2010 and ended at an honourable day of 10th October 2010 at 10pm sharp (as it marks the significance of 10/10/10, 10pm).
With their efforts in promoting themselves, results have finally flourished to good selection of top 3 prom king and queen finalists. They are:
Girls: Joan Westwood, Janina Ramli, Cheah Wen Wen
Guys: Hendry Lim, Alvin Ooi, Saw Boon Kheng
(Both from left to right)
All six of them are required to do a short catwalk and a brief Q&A session on Prom Night itself to win 50-50 votes from the judges and the audience. So who do you think will win this contest? Your decision can change their profile!
We wish the six finalists all the best, and above all -HAVE FUN!
